Vietnam needed to take stronger action against desertification, the dire consequence of long-term inefficient use of land, a forestry expert has said.
Deputy director general of Vietnam Administration for Forestry Nguyen Ba Ngai told a workshop in Hanoi that climate change coupled with other natural factors had sped up land degradation in Vietnam.
He said feasible mechanisms and sufficient resources were required to combat the problem.
Ngai was speaking to key policymakers, experts and development partners at the two-day workshop on land degradation in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces, which wraps up today.
The workshop focused on the Integrated Financial Strategy that aims to increase investments in sustainable land management activities in the two provinces.
There are 9.3 million hectares of land in Vietnam that could be categorised as desertified, accounting for 28% of the total land.Travel to Vietnam Ebook du lich lao visit vietnam Tour Du Lich 30 - 4 va 1 - 5 hitech review hue tourism vietnam how to weight loss cute girl dac san hue how to solve rubik how to tie a tie how to be pregnant how to cv what is fashion trends cute girl
