Official to be sacked from party in reporter murder case
An official in the southern province of Long An will be expelled from the Communist Party for gambling in Cambodia and having an affair with a woman currently facing charge of killing her husband, provincial authorities said Monday.
The punishment against Nguyen Van Tam, former chief of a local market management team, will take effect this week, said Duong Ngoc An, chief of the local Party Unit’s inspectorate.
The Party Unit also asked his employer, the provincial Market Management, to dismiss Tam from his job, according to An.
On June 11 Tam was sacked from his post as chief of the team for gambling in Cambodia and having an affair with Tran Thuy Lieu, 40.
